So what’s happening, RJ?
Well, let’s see.
I’m currently about to step into finals week, which means a lot of more free and open time. So I am devoting myself to the gym every single day of this week, come rain or come snow. It’s been very difficult lately because of the bitter cold, but I want to make the effort.
I ran a 3+ miles last Friday and it felt great to get back into the shape of things, and I think that’s where I’m gonna focus my attention again. The weight training has been great and it’s been fun to get my muscles burning and aching, but believe it or not… I miss the cardio! So now that I do have time to spend in the gym, I think I’m gonna pace myself - maybe start out with the weights before I bare it all on the treadmill. I really want to keep my body in shape for when I go back west, where I can run outside and love it.
I’ve also come to a really good point in my life where I’m accepting how good I have it. I look great, especially in comparison than when I started. I’ve sort of let go with counting and measuring numbers on a weekly basis. The weighing scale is still there to help my food intake, but I’ve let go with the tape measure (for now, at least).
I’m working on a show right now where one of the cast members quickly became my fitspo - he’s in great shape and a great dancer, and I think that’s where I’d like to be someday. I want to be in musical theatre chorus boy shape!
So, here we go. I feel all this determination within the bitterness of the Chicago cold, let’s hope I can push through and prove myself again!
